Before I traveled to Granada, I was a little concerned about finding vegan food. After all, it’s a relatively small city—especially when compared to places like Madrid or Barcelona. But to my surprise (and delight), Granada turned out to be incredibly vegan-friendly, with several great options and even four fully vegan restaurants.
Table of Contents
Vegan Restaurants:
El Oju (Calle General Narvaez 4)
El Piano (Calle Santiago 2)
Paprika (Cuesta de Abarqueros 3)
Hicuri (Plaza Girones 4)
This ended up being the only place I actually ate at—and not because there weren’t other options, but because Hicuri was just that good. I did check out a few other places, but they were empty when I stopped by, and I tend to take that as a bad sign. Hicuri, on the other hand, was always buzzing with both locals and tourists.
The food was consistently delicious, and they offer a menú del día for around €13. While that’s slightly more than what I usually pay for a lunch menu in Spain, it was absolutely worth it. The portions were generous, everything tasted fresh, and the flavors were spot-on.
Take a look at the menu I had one day: salmorejo soup, lasagna, and tiramisu for dessert. I was especially blown away by the tiramisu—honestly, one of the best I’ve ever had. And I say that as a self-proclaimed tiramisu snob.

Other:
Eco De·leite (Calle Sta. Escolástica 1)

This iconic, 100% organic ice cream shop offers a surprisingly wide range of vegan flavors—I counted 22! I tried the chocolate and coconut, and both were rich, creamy, and absolutely hit the spot. Highly recommend stopping by on a hot afternoon.
EcoEcoShop (Buensuceso 6)

A small eco-friendly shop and bakery where all the baked goods are vegan. I tried their vegan empanadas and cakes, and loved everything I tasted. It’s a great place to grab a treat or something to take with you on the go.

Wow wish I had known about that ice cream shop when we were last in Granada!! We actually went on a gelato hunt but even the flavors labeled “vegan” at a lot of the small places actually contain milk (wtf?). We went to Hicuri too and really loved it. We tried El Piano also (our last morning there after walking by at night and not wanting to go in because their fluorescent lighting was so off-putting at night lol) and it was kind of disappointing. Pretty pricey, truly terrible coffee (like muddy water) and just eh food. So sad! We didn’t try Paprika but a friend recently traveled to Granada and tried it and she said it was really good. And she’s not even vegan or vegetarian!
Yes, it was El Piano where I went and it was completely empty and it just didn’t look nice. I wished I would have tried Paprika but I was staying on the other side of the town. Next time!
Vegan tiramisu? What did they use instead of cheese? I also love tiramisu, so I’m skeptical it could be the best. 😉
