Hi! I’m Gabriela — an adventurous solo female traveler, blogger, and photographer on a mission to visit every country in the world.
On this blog, I share practical travel guides, itineraries, and first-hand experiences from destinations that are often overlooked or misunderstood. My focus is on independent and solo female travel, offering realistic advice and showing what travel actually looks like beyond the highlights — especially in parts of the world where reliable information can be hard to find.
Traveling solo as a woman has strongly shaped the way I explore the world. I don’t believe in fear-driven narratives, and I aim to offer honest, experience-based insights that help others travel more confidently and responsibly. I’m especially drawn to off-the-beaten-path destinations, long overland journeys, and places that challenge common perceptions.

I started traveling at the age of 18, and it didn’t take long for me to get hooked. I soon came to the conclusion that I wanted to visit every single country. In 2016, I began working more intentionally toward that goal — and since then, I’ve visited nearly 150 countries.
Before starting this blog, I had already traveled to almost 70 countries across every continent (except Antarctica — still to come!). Some of my early adventures included:
- Living and traveling in New Zealand for almost a year
- Spending a month traveling around Australia
- Two Interrail trips across Western and Eastern Europe
- Backpacking through Southeast Asia
- An around-the-world trip
- Backpacking in Eastern and Southern Africa for three months, visiting eight countries
- Backpacking and camping through Central America
Since starting my blog, the adventures have only grown bigger. Over the years, I’ve for example:
- Backpacked solo from Cape Town to Cairo
- Traveled across Europe on yet another long backpacking journey
- Visited every single country in South America
- Explored almost all Caribbean islands without taking a cruise
- Spent several months working remotely and living the digital nomad life in Southeast Asia
- Traveled through most of Central Asia and all countries in the Caucasus
- Visited all African island nations and more than half of the continent overall
- Traveled through most of the Middle East
My goal is to visit every country in the world — and I’m not just flying from one airport to another. I prefer traveling overland and spending meaningful time in each place I visit. I want to learn about local cultures, meet people along the way, and experience destinations beyond the highlights. Working remotely while traveling allows me to move at a slower pace and truly immerse myself in each place.
I’m especially drawn to off-the-beaten-path destinations, and Africa has a special place in my heart. A large part of my content focuses on African travel, and while I write about many other regions too, this blog has naturally evolved into an Africa-focused travel blog — highlighting lesser-known, under-visited destinations and encouraging more thoughtful, adventurous travel.
